The Digital Personal Alarm connects to your broadband router and comes with a waterproof personal alarm button that can be worn around the neck or on the wrist. It is designed to provide protection throughout the home and garden while the button remains within range of the base unit.

Protection throughout the home and garden
You do not need to be standing beside the base unit to use your alarm button. The wearable transmitter communicates wirelessly with the alarm hub, helping provide reassurance as you move around your home.
The button has a quoted wireless range of up to 300 metres in line-of-sight conditions, helping to provide useful coverage around many homes, driveways and gardens.

The wearable personal alarm button has an IP67 water-resistance rating and can be worn in the shower.
3–5 year typical battery
The pendant does not need daily charging. Typical battery life is around three to five years and replacement batteries are provided when required while the equipment remains on the monitored service.

Both a wristband and neck cord are supplied, allowing the alarm user to choose whichever wearing option is most comfortable.
Two-way communication
The base unit contains a microphone and speaker so that the monitoring operator can communicate with the alarm user after an activation.

What do I need at home?
The Digital Personal Alarm requires a working broadband service and connects to your broadband router using the supplied network cable.
Before setting up the alarm, check that the broadband connection is actually working — seeing a Wi-Fi symbol alone does not necessarily mean that internet service is active.
The alarm uses your digital broadband connection rather than relying on an old-style analogue copper telephone line.
One personal alarm button is included as standard. An additional pendant for another person in the household can be selected during the online order.
If you would prefer a system that can also use the mobile network if broadband is unavailable, ask us about the Digital + GSM Backup option.
The telecare base unit has a built-in backup battery capable of providing up to approximately 36 hours of backup power, including one 30-minute call. However, because the Digital alarm communicates through your broadband service, your router and any other broadband equipment must also remain powered for the connection to continue working during a mains power failure. Check with your broadband provider if you are unsure what backup is available for your broadband equipment.
